Patient Centred Design Forum 2011

  • 28-29 Mar 2011
  • Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel at Circular Quay, Australia

Description

This forum is first industry gathering to focus on patient centred design in Australia

An increasingly used term in medical literature, patient-centred design is an active process similar to, however also different from patient-centred care. Though complex and seldom used in Australian healthcare at present, its use is becoming more popular both in terms of ideology and practical examples. New hospitals and medical practices are increasingly using patient-centred design as opposed to the more traditional technology-based or disease-based design.

The Patient-Centred Design Forum will highlight how healthcare facilities should be designed accordingly to patient s various needs. The forum will establish key design techniques that currently exist in the healthcare sector to put the patient first. This will be in the form of domestic case studies, international case studies, and architects who have a stake in new designs.

Join us for this inaugural event from The Informa Healthcare Series, to hear from the major players in this industry sector. Patient-centred design is an essential part of future healthcare institutions.
