Stroke is the third leasing cause of death in the Untied States, resulting in more than 160,000 deaths annually. Long-term disability is a major concern among survivors, with more than 90% experiencing significant neurologic deficit. Today, stroke treatments have come to incorporate a multidisciplinary approach, relying on the expertise of various healthcare providers to tailor primary, secondary and tertiary treatments options for patients.
