  • Saudi Arabia is expected to increase oil production by 5 million b/d to an average of 13 million b/d from about 8 million b/d now. The International Energy Agency (IEA) forecasts that the kingdom’s sustainable oil production capacity will need to rise by a further 5 million b/d in the next 25 years.
  • Saudi Arabia is aiming to achieve an annual average of 4,000 MW of new electricity capacity and 500 million gallons-a-day (g/d)of desalinated water production capacity. The kingdom also aims to achieve capacity of 40 gigawatts of solar power in 2035.
  • Saudi Arabian mining company Ma’aden have formed a joint venture to develop a $10.8-billion, fully integrated alumina-aluminium complex in Saudi Arabia. The complex will include a bauxite mine, an alumina refinery, an aluminium smelter with capacity to produce 740,000 mt/y capacity and a rolling mill
