Fabulous location close to the train station and many subway lines. Able to walk to many main Tokyo attractions. Lots of eateries nearby. The ambience of the hotel wan was relaxing and calm, perfect after a long, busy day of exploring Tokyo. The view from the room is awesome. The laundry facilities were clean and easy to access. The breakfast was amazingly with Asian and western options. The staff was courteous, helpful and professional at all times.

FAQs about hotels in Tokyo

See It to Believe It!

The capital of Japan, Tokyo is a vast, teeming metropolis nestled between mountains and Tokyo Bay. It’s so huge that you’ll have to come to grips with public transport and maybe even experience being pushed onto a train. Yes, it does actually happen!

Get your bearings by ascending the Tokyo World Trade Center near the waterfront, and savor the fantastic views taking in the red-and-white Tokyo Tower and Shinkuju’s skyscrapers. North is Ueno, home to the best museums (including the Tokyo National Museum) and a large park bursting with cherry blossom in spring.

Equally tranquil are the Chiyoda Imperial Palace and Gardens, surrounded by water. Also in gardens is the Meiji Jingu Shinto shrine in Shibuya, a youthful district where neon abounds.

For more traditional Japanese culture, head to Asakusa whose Sensō-ji Buddhist temple is Tokyo’s oldest temple. Outdoor markets sell a variety of wares, though shopping in Tokyo is, of course, fantastic wherever you go.

Whether you stay in a Japanese ryokan, luxury Tokyo hotel or a hostel, don’t fly out of Tokyo Narita Airport or Haneda Airport without having tried sushi. Another Japanese institution is the sento (public bath) and onsen (hot springs bath) – a must try. Also incredibly popular are Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, Asia’s 2 most visited theme parks.

Tokyo is an amazing and fascinating city, with too interesting and culture activities to do. It is easy to get around the city, with many public transport options. Metro is very clear and easy to manage. I would recommend at least 5 days in Tokyo.

Three unforgettable weeks in Japan – mostly lost (in the...

Three unforgettable weeks in Japan – mostly lost (in the best way) in Tokyo. I could’ve easily spent three more weeks just exploring Tokyo alone—every neighbourhood feels like a different world. Most people speak a bit of English, though in a few outer wards, hand gestures became my best friend. Hot tip: Don’t bother looking for breakfast joints early. Eateries typically open around 11am, so if you're up early, do what the locals do: follow the salarymen. That’s how I stumbled into some of the best hidden food spots. In the meantime, konbini (convenience stores) are your best friend—open 24/7 and perfect for morning bites or midnight cravings. The best sushi I had? Hidden in a nondescript basement of a shopping mall. No name, no line, just magic on a plate. Japan’s shrines and temples are endless—and absolutely worth the detour every time. If you’re into collectibles or calligraphy, grab a goshuin book. Each visit gets you a hand-drawn stamp that feels more like an art piece than a souvenir. Plan ahead: Iconic spots like the Ghibli Museum, Shibuya Sky, and teamLab Borderless require advance booking—and they sell out fast.

    Shopping and ease of transportation.

Shopping and ease of transportation. Also the food is good everywhere you go. The Ramen and Gyoza shop was very good! We would stop at the many convenience stores and buy snacks and bentos for morning breakfast. My favorites foods are ramen, gyoza, curry, rice balls, karaage chicken, tonkatsu... food was not a problems for me because these restaurants are every where in Tokyo.

It seemed to be the biggest city I have ever been too.

It seemed to be the biggest city I have ever been too. I'd be lost on my own. The people are very polite and helpful. Such a different feel from Europe. Fashions and food are in great supply including cheap and expensive restaurants. Some great shopping to be had as well if that is your thing. We stayed in the Shinjuko area. There must be so much to see and do if you had the time. I loved their parks and gardens and the way they prune their trees. So different. The train stations are huge and difficult to navigate but when in doubt look for an official and ask questions. They will always help and guide you.

This hotel is located in a central part of Shibuya and is easily walkable to Harajuku. It has a "cool" vibe with an Italian restaurant on the main floor and a coffee shop/bar on the ground floor. The staff were helpful when we needed them but generally hands-off as you check-in and check-out on computers in the lobby yourself. Our room was on the 13th floor so we didn't hear any street noise, which was nice. My husband and I enjoyed our stay overall.

The location was perfect. I chose this Hotel because of its nearby location to Zepp Shinjuku, Kabukicho Tower, where my Favourite Finnish band Turmion Kätilöt were playing, which was less than 50m across the road. All the restaurants and bars within a 5 block radius make choosing where to eat very difficult, but the TV in the room was very helpful for recommendations. Easy walking distance to Shinjuku train station.

Great location, great staff, comfy rooms and clean facilities. The lunch menu at Bellustar restaurant was awesome, simply delicious. The hotel is on Tokyu Kabukicho Tower, where you also have Bandai Namco Tokyo, an awesome food hall with live music and great food, as well as bars and restaurants. Close to the Shinjuku station as well. All around, I would definitely visit again. Thanks for everything!
