The location is 1M / 10.. there’s a tram station right in front of the hotel, central station that connects to main railway and airport is just a short distance. Key city attractions are walking distance from the hotel. And super straight forward concept, too

Smarthotel Oslo is located in the center of the city just around the corner from the History Museum and just 500 meters from the National Theater metro and train station. The rooms are small, but clean and functional with good Wi-Fi. The hotel has a relaxed digital nomad vibe with work spaces, coffee and beer. I enjoyed my stay at Smarthotel and do recommend it for a short stay in Oslo. Travel tip: I ordered the excellent breakfast in advance via the online check-in and paid just 95 kroner per day. Otherwise, I believe the same day price is listed as 195-250 kroner.

Centrally located hotel with a wonderful breakfast included. We arrived late and spent the first night in a tiny room facing a noisy street. The next day we asked for a better room and the staff graciously complied.

FAQs about hotels in Oslo

Into the Wild in Oslo

Spreading for hundreds of miles from the mouth of the Oslofjord, Oslo is the largest city by area in Europe and is liberally covered in pristine forests rising up into the outlying hills. South of the unassuming city hall lies a vibrant waterfront known as Aker Brygge, which in summer is full of bustling outdoor restaurants and bars.

For the prettiest buildings head to affluent inner-city suburbs of Frogner and Fagerborg, or admire the traditional Scandinavian wooden houses of Bygdøy and Holmenkollen. Monumental buildings include the Royal Palace which runs daily tours and the Akershus Festning, which is a medieval castle that also served as a military base and provides impressive views of the Oslofjord. Oslo City Hall, or rådhus, offers even more distinctive architecture and it is the location of the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony.

Nature is never far away in Oslo which is ringed by an archipelago of islands which are extremely popular in summer. Hiking, kayaking and sailing are all easily achievable within the city limits. Just as popular are the many museums. The national Museum houses Edvard Munch’s famous painting The Scream and Viking Ship Museum containing long-lost relics from Norway’s Viking past.

From downtown Sentrum to the Oslo Airport Gardermoen to the stunning statues in Frogner Park, Booking.com has over 80 hotels and other accommodations available.

Oslo is just another European city to us. It is expensive but clean and orderly. If we return to Norway, we will likely skip Oslo, but we will definitely revisit Bergen and spend time exploring western Norway.

We were traveling through for one night, and have now returned for a few days. Enjoying walking around the city and the easy of moving about. We went to the Daimond League Athletics, The Bislett Games last night. Looking forward to more days in Oslo. The Fram Museum is a must do. Not often you get the chance to stand in and on history. The ship went where the men went and represents them in its silence. Great Museum.

The architecture is realy cool and there are many modern buildings between the historic ones. The city center is small so you can explore on foot. What stood out to our eyes was the trash in the streets and many homeless people asking for money. We have also saw the police searching people and a guy fallen on the floor in the buss station which gave us insecurity and a impression of lack of drug and alcohol control.

A very convenient hotel at an affordable price. Quick and easy online check-in. The room is small but clean and warm, with an adjustable radiator. The hotel is located in the city center, right near the Royal Palace. Bus, tram, and metro stops are just a few minutes’ walk away. A train from the airport takes you close to the hotel, and it’s a 5-minute walk from the station to the hotel. I recommend it to those who don’t mind a small room and are looking for a budget-friendly and clean hotel in the city center.

The hotel has a good location (close to the train station, the historical city center and the modern center). The room was nice, comfortable, clean with a great view. The hotel staff was relaxed and helpful. They had prepraded room earlier for me. The breakfast was just perfect! A large selection of tasty and fresh dishes and drinks. You can find some local accents as well.
