FAQs about hotels in Vienna

Waltz Through the Pretty Streets of Vienna

Previously the center of the Hapsburg Empire, Vienna is the current center of Austria’s culture, economics, and politics. Visitors may think they are in a museum as they walk through the historic first district, but Vienna also has a youthful and dynamic side with lots to offer.

St Stephens Cathedral in the Inner-City is surrounded by the Ring Road, with grandiose buildings like City Hall, the Austrian Parliament, the State Opera House and the Burgtheater. Enjoy the city where amazing musicians like Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms, and Mahler once lived. If you’'re visiting during the carnival season, practice your waltzing skills at one of Vienna’s 200 glamorous annual balls.

Visitors can wander around beautiful park grounds in the Wiener Prater and Schonbrunn Palace provides imperial and extravagant grounds to stroll through. After exploring, eat with the locals by enjoying famous sandwiches at Trzesniewski, a Wiener Schnitzel at Cafe Central or taste traditional wines at the city’s many Viennese pubs.

Vienna International Airport is the doorway to the heart of Vienna. Booking.com has luxury hotels, charming bed & breakfasts and modern apartments to meet any accommodation needs for your stay in Austria’s capital.

A wonderful, historic city, full of superb museums and galleries. A musical paradise, superb opera and concerts…not just at the Staatsoper and Musikverein but many of the churches have regular concerts and organ recitals on weekdays and at weekends, featuring very talented young musicians - e.g. the Peterskirche right outside Hotel Wandl had something on every evening of the week I was there. And, of course, the restaurants are incomparable, especially the traditional coffee houses serving g such a huge array of tempting cakes and pastries!

I travelled with my daughter, who is a vegetarian, and the food options were amazing for us! Highly recommend Ulrich's and Tian Bistro am Spittelberg! We both love art and you are spoilt for choice in Vienna, we managed to visit 7 museums in our 5 days and our favourite was the Leopold, but there was something different in each of them. Worth doing some research based on what you like and booking your tickets online to avoid queueing. I'm not much of a walker but found I'd done over 17k steps a day!! But if you don't want to do that the trams are very easy to use and very regular covering all the main attractions. There are also Bolt cars and taxis which are not expensive.

Vienna is historical, a touristic city, friendly people & very safe for tourists. Public transport is one of the best and if one buys 24/48/72 hours Vienna pass then it makes the visit a truly pleasurable visit to a one of the fantastic European city. Hofburg palace, Main Street, chapel and many other places to visit. Japanese, Arabic, burgers, steaks and Italian food, even Vietnamese and Chinese food was simply amazing. Perfect. Holiday for friends, families and individuals.

    Very nice for 4-5 days.

Very nice for 4-5 days. Parks are beautiful and big, it's great to spend some free time between visiting buildings. Museum of natural history is very big, it took me 7 hours but you can probably see it in 5 (good place to go to when you know the weather will be bad like in my case, rain the whole day). You can go there with kids as they have a lot of interactive attractions that are also educational. Aquarium has 10 floors if I remember correctly (and elevators!) it has a lot of animals and some interactive stuff, also very good view at the city. If you are going to Belveder take ticket for both buildings or only Upper, in my opinion buying a ticket for Lower Belveder only is not worth the price

So much to see and do. Great public transport. Fantastic for art and music lovers and excellent for sitting and people watching. Fabulous range of restaurants and dining styles. I would definitely recommend Anna loves Vienna free walking tour or similar. This is a great way to get to know the city and it’s history, especially if you have limited time.

Our favourite European city for art, music, architecture and history, may be not for food! For opera you must book months ahead. The tourist concerts are still good. The museums are exceptional and you need time to enjoy them - the Hapsburg collections are huge. Get a guide for the Kunsthistorisches museum. A walking tour of the city is a great start. The city is clean and feels safe so we walked everywhere. Sachertorte is vastly overrated and overpriced.

-Location: the hotel is not in the city centre, but it is located around 200 metres from the nearest metro station (4 stops from Schönbrunn palace and 2 stops from the Vienna State Opera: the city centre, the Cathedral, and the most important museums are within walking distance of it) -Both my room and the common areas were clean and had modern, good-taste forniture in my opinion -the staff was professional -the hotel has a nice bar, a restaurant, and a laundry service (I have not tried it though) -very good value for money

We arrived in Vienna when it was snowing heavily, so it was great to have a nice, warm, big hotel room for all three of us. The breakfast is good, and staff are friendly and helpful, including in arranging airport transfers. There is a tram station about 100-200m away from the hotel, but traveling to the city centre takes about 15-20 minutes, and tram lines often break down, so plan your travel accordingly.
