The Sydney harbour Hotel was beautiful, the location for all of the Vivid Festival activities was perfect with only 5 mins walk to Circular Key and 1 min to the markets, stalls and waterfront.
Would not recommend Captain Cook Cruises as it was overloaded and we could not really see anything.
Much better idea to walk around the foreshore and feel the atmosphere, see the lights and save your money to enjoy the markets and food stalls
This is exactly what we will be doing next time.

Great city, definitely use the Metro system to get around rather than hire a car.
People aren't very friendly and struggle to acknowledge when you say hello. City center is super busy but local activities have plenty going on.
Definitely visit the gardens and museums... All of them lol

I have lived in Sydney all of my life. Worked in the CBD so know it well. It has the most beautiful harbour in the world. So many attractions and styles of restaurants. The Light Rail has made everything so accessible if you don't feel like walking.

Loved the Opera house as we came to sing with Chorus OZ.
Loved the Opera house as we came to sing with Chorus OZ. Singing inside the concert hall is incredible. Take the tour of the Opera house as it is an awesome experience. Ferry on the harbour is always fun. Easy travel on trains and come very regularly.
the Chinese Grden of friendship is so peaceful and beautifully presented. Close to Darling harbour and wonderful eating places. The Rocks markets always delight with artisan products.

Hotel is a nice combination of old and new decor, classy. Staff are friendly and attentive, always ready to help. In a good central location within CBD, lots of activities close by and quality restaurants in vicinity. Breakfast until 11am which I liked as I'm not a "morning" person (some hotels I've stayed in previously stopped breakfast at 9:30am forcing an early rise and rushed shower etc to make it in time to eat). I'm a wheelchair user, "easy access" room was spacious and well designed.
I've always like the location of this hotel. I used to stay here when it was branded as another hotel chain - it very close to everything, and the food options plus a supermarket close by are an attraction for me. The rooms are a little dated and basic but clean and the beds comfortable, which is a little more than I expected for the price. Good value for money in comparison to other CBD hotels and the Reception staff were helpful and friendly.
We had a double queen size beds. Very large room (convenient when you have big suitcases which was our case) with a little kitchenette (didn't use). Beds were really good. No noise. Clean bathroom. Perfect for our two nights stay.
Hotel location close to CBD and Darling harbour. Didn't have breakfast in the hotel so can't say if it was good.
Quiet rooms. Rooms look nicer than the photos. They have a boutique hotel vibe rather than the standard decor you get at some hotels. Nice to be greeted by warm welcoming staff.
Lovely breakfast. The fruit was perfectly ripe and fresh. The scrambled eggs were particularly good. Location is great for mid town Sydney CBD.
