Corrosion Management & Optimisation 2011

Description

A proper corrosion management (CM) is required in any oil and gas asset susceptible to corrosion. CM for plant assets is achieved through an Asset CMS designed and intended to maintain asset integrity through corrosion mitigation throughout the operations phase of the asset life cycle. The biggest challenge faced by heavy industries today is that CMS is not implemented effectively leading to increased risk of failure due to corrosion, imbalanced chemical treatment, increased unplanned shutdowns which results in increase in cost. A huge amount of time and money is spent during shutdowns and maintenance periods dealing with problems pertaining to machines. When a root cause failure analysis is conducted on assets that have failed, a lot of the time corrosion is a huge contributor to that problem. Total annual estimated direct cost of corrosion in the U.S. is a staggering $276 billion approximately 3.1% of the nation s Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Rather than fixing the problem, the focus now is on fixing the cause. marcus evans Corrosion Management & Optimisation 2011 Forum will look at a combination of both strategic and technical approach to managing corrosion for plant assets. It will look at the overall development of an asset CMS, the various techniques needed and used to measure and identify the lack of integrity due to corrosion; as well as the techniques applied to deal with assets on a frequent basis to control corrosion. Attend this forum to not only solve corrosion problem but to fix the cause of corrosion.
