Dermatology in primary care 2010

  • 13 May 2010
  • Cavendish Hotel, London, United Kingdom

Description

Dermatology is a clinical area given a low priority by medical schools- but is an area no GP can ignore. Around 15% of the population see their GP each year with a skin problem, 20% of children have suffered from atopic eczema by the age of four - and research has found malignant melanoma is rising significantly.

And the NHS`s Care Closer to Home policy means more of the skin disease caseload will shift to primary care.

This seminar aims to reinforce and expand upon your basic knowledge of dermatology. Our team of expert speakers will focus on diagnosis, management and referral criteria for conditions as diverse as acne, skin cancer and skin problems in pregnancy. Delegates will come away from the day armed with the practical skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of common skin problems and the confidence to know when to refer.

Our speakers will focus on:

Practical tips on diagnosis, management and referral
Avoiding common pitfalls
Dermatological problems in specific patient groups
Updating delegates on the latest research, guidelines and clinical controversies

Every delegate will receive

A resource pack containing key take-home points
A certificate of attendance confirming an estimated five hours CPD time plus a form to record your learning needs and learning points for your appraisal folder
