The ICJR Spring meeting will provide surgeons with 2 full days of in-depth and relevant reconstructive surgery information in engaging formats. The program, chaired by Walter B. Beaver Jr., MD and Thomas K. Fehring, MD of the OrthoCarolina Hip & Knee Center will feature up to 20 ICJR faculty-led CME sessions. In between CME sessions, attendees have the opportunity to meet with sales representatives on the exhibit floor.
TARGET AUDIENCE The program is being marketed to approximately 25,000 orthopaedic surgeons worldwide. We anticipate up to 150 highly active U.S. orthopaedic professionals will participate in this meeting.
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:
Compare and evaluate implant choices for the total knee arthroplasty (TKA) patient based on patient type, design qualities, and reported patient outcomes.
Assess and evaluate different implant fixation choices for TKA.
Understand and compare different TKA surgical techniques.
Consider expert assessment of current TKA strategies.
Evaluate patient selection criteria for knee revision surgery
Understand and compare revision surgical techniques and failure mechanisms
Identify patients who could benefit from hip resurfacing
Consider expert assessment of bearing surfaces and related controversies
Compare the surgical options for the difficult THA
Assess and evaluate the perioperative issues and potential complications associated with THA
Evaluate the painful failed THA
Identify different THA surgical techniques
Identify the options for blood and VTE risk management in the orthopaedic patient.
Evaluate and compare the different options for wound closure and infection management.
Review and discuss current options for pain management and other supportive care strategies
