For many patients with advanced head and neck cancer, the judicious combination of multiple treatment modalities provides the most effective therapy approach. The therapeutic goals are cure and preservation or restoration of form and function. As treatment options advance and new technologies are implemented, there is a greater need for the interactive multidisciplinary approach to cancer care. This model will bring together physician specialists from around the world for interdisciplinary discussions on the latest research and state-of-the-art care in head and neck cancer. The American Board of Radiology has identified head and neck cancer as one of the 13 core content areas for its Maintenance of Certification Program. Physicians with time-limited certifications will be required to demonstrate competency in knowledge of and contemporary treatment for head and neck cancer. Program Objectives
Report the latest advances in the management of head and neck cancer.
Identify treatment options and innovative technology.
Discuss multidisciplinary approaches to care.
Explore clinical management issues and supportive outcomes.
