Nexus 2010 Kyoto: Kidney and Vascular System: Emerging Culprits in Pathogenesis and Advances in Therapy

  • 15-18 Apr 2010
  • Kyoto International Conference Center (ICC), Japan

Description

On behalf of the International Society of Nephrology (ISN), we are delighted to invite you to attend the ISN`s new generation of symposia, NEXUS, which links basic research to clinical practice. The topic of NEXUS Kyoto in 2010 is `Kidney and Vascular System: Emerging Culprits in Pathogenesis and Advances in Therapy`. The multi-disciplinary approaches based upon molecular, genetic and physiological disciplines are required to gain insights into the missing link between kidney and vascular injuries. The meeting will focus on latest advancements in our understanding of the molecular pathogenesis linking chronic kidney disease (CKD) to cardiovascular disease (CVD) with the hope to accelerate the translation of basic science into clinical medicine. A key goal for the meeting will be to facilitate collaborative interactions between researchers and clinicians focused on prediction, prevention, and treatment of CKD and/or CVD. To further promote the communications between distinguished scientists/clinicians and young nephrologists, we plan a new session format, "Meet the Professor Breakfasts".
As symposium Chairs, we sincerely welcome you and your colleagues to the legacy city of Kyoto, the ancient imperial capital of Japan as being the country`s historical, cultural and spiritual heart since 794 A.C. Please enjoy your active debate and exchange at NEXUS Kyoto and also visit the city preserving the broad panorama of traditional Japanese culture illustrated by shrines, temples, and architectural masterpieces, including 17 listed UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Sites.
