Upon completion of this symposium, participants should be able to:
  • Effectively communicate with patients regarding the risk/benefit profile of tamoxifen and raloxifene in breast cancer prevention and examine the side effects and toxicity profile.
  • Examine the principles of fetal procedures to clinical practice, and asses the challenges and achievements in each fetal therapy entity.
  • Identify appropriate genetic screening tests to offer women in their reproductive and menopausal years.
  • Apply the current screening protocols endorsed by professional societies and governmental agencies.
  • Implement new strategies in the prevention, diagnosis and management of preterm birth in an effort to improve the health outcomes of fetuses, newborns and infants due to the complications of prematurity.
  • Examine the challenges for screening and early detection in ovarian cancer.
  • Assess the need for effective and reversible contraception in clinical practice.
