Westminster eForum Keynote Seminar: Building 21st century broadband - paying, laying and stimulating demand 2010

  • 04 Nov 2010
  • Institution of Mechanical Engineers London, United Kingdom

Description

The Coalition Government has reaffirmed its commitment to the national deployment of superfast broadband - however, Jeremy Hunt, the Secretary of State for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport, has recently admitted that the 2012 target for 2Mb `broadband Britain` is likely to be delayed until 2015 due to lack of funds. This seminar will provide a timely examination of the barriers to the rollout of NGA (next generation access), what is now needed to encourage private sector investment and how all parts of the country from urban to rural can be ensured a place in the broadband fast-lane.
