Westminster Health Forum Keynote Seminar: The future of dentistry - taking forward system reform and moving towards a new dental contract 2010

Following on from the publication of Professor Jimmy Steele`s independent review of NHS Dental Services last June and with the work of the Steele Implementation Programme ongoing, this seminar will examine the implementation process, including discussion around early pilots - and the future of dental services, including provision, quality and prospects for the future of the dental practitioner.

Discussion will also examine the Coalition programme for government, which has stated that a new dentistry contract will be introduced, focusing on achieving good dental health and increasing access to NHS dentistry, with an additional emphasis on the oral health of school children. Sessions will also examine what more can be done to tackle inequalities and improve commissioning of dental and oral health services, as well as the next steps for NHS dentistry.
