Westminster Media Forum Keynote Seminar: The future of local media in the UK 2011

This seminar will look at the new and emerging options being considered by Government and the media industry to provide sustainable news and media at a local level.

As the Government reviews local media ownership rules, and with the first city TV stations expected to be licensed by 2012, this seminar will discuss the commercial viability of local media and the level of demand expected from consumers - particularly with the rise of hyperlocal content online - and assess how best to ensure plurality in the provision of local news.
