Rail Safety 2011

  • 23-24 Mar 2011
  • Langham Hotel Melbourne, Australia

Description

The annual rail safety conference is the only dedicated event for the rail safety regulators and industry executives

Rail Safety 2011 will celebrate and showcase innovative methods for improving safety at all levels: organisationally, operationally and tactically. This multi-faceted perspective will challenge the industry to think outside the square as they strive towards innovation and safety excellence.

Rail Safety is now in its 11th year and there has never been a better time to stop, reflect and re-think safety policies, as well as what governments, companies and individuals could be doing to improve safety. The rail industry is experiencing a renaissance of increased patronage, freight demands and investment. In Australia, the projected population increase to 35 million by 2049 will significantly increase the number of rail journeys within Australia. Although rail is one of the safest modes of transport, recent accidents remind us that the issue of rail safety is a fundamental element of all rail operations and one which the industry strives to continually improve and build on.

Rail Safety 2011 will bring together regulators, rail operators, investigators, academics and risk & safety professional to showcase the latest industry development in rail safety. The two-day program will incorporate best practice case studies from the national and international rail industry together with lessons from other safety-critical industries.
